Freedom is often taken for granted and is often being taken away. This poem does not talk of fighting for freedom, but just the simple joys of feeling free. Royston Allen says that his freedom is his, which is how it should be because we all express our freedom differently whether it is the freedom to laugh or cry. Some things in this poem seem too natural to have a title like "freedom", but that's because freedom is the natural God-given rights to live without fear of someone holding you back (aside from murdering and other morally wrong crimes).
