Feelings and emotions can and often are described with colors. Onken emcompasses this in her poem but goes into her own life.
She uses specific colors; pink, red, blue, and yellow. Glory days, love, sorrow, and happiness. Yet, then she says that she now colors her life as a rainbow because the colors must be together to show true greatness. What she is saying is that all memories, positive or negative, make up who we are and each memory reflects another color, and another peice to the rainbow of life.
